Second half of 2024 property taxes due June 20
SANDPOINT — Bonner County taxpayers have until June 20 to pay the second half of their 2024 property taxes without incurring late fees, Clorrisa Koster, Bonner County treasurer, said Tuesday.
The treasurer's office, located on the third floor of the Bonner County Administration Building at 1500 U.S. 2 in Sandpoint, is open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., but will be closed Thursday, June 19, for the Juneteenth federal holiday.
Payments can be made in person, by mail, online or through a secure drop box at the administration building entrance. Mailed payments must be postmarked by June 20 to avoid additional fees, officials said.
The county provides a 24-hour monitored drop box for check payments outside the building's entrance. Officials remind taxpayers using this option to include their payment coupon or write their parcel number on their check.
Online payments using credit cards, debit cards or electronic checks are subject to processing fees. Interested taxpayers can call 208-265-1433 for details.
County officials emphasized that under Idaho law, late payments will trigger interest charges retroactive to Jan. 1. Partial payments made before the deadline can help reduce these charges.
