Clark Fork golf standouts Brooke Stevens and Cole Reuter medaled at the 2A State Golf Tournament in Burley on Tuesday.

“I’m so proud of both of them,” Clark Fork head golf coach Brian Arthun wrote in an email. “Brooke will sorely be missed next year. I was so happy she got to go out in style. And Cole has accomplished so much his freshman year.”

Stevens, a senior, shot a 100 on day one and 97 on day two en route to an eighth-place finish.

“She’s an amazing athlete, but an even better kid,” Arthun said of the senior.

While the state golf tournament was Stevens’ opportunity to ride off into the sunset after a decorated, four-year career across three sports, it may have also marked the arrival of a new Clark Fork star in Cole Reuter.

The freshman tied for sixth place in a field of more than 80 golfers. He shot a 78 on day one and a 77 on day two.

“Cole’s mental game is well beyond his years,” Arthun said. “He just doesn’t get rattled. He has an extremely bright future.”
