Clela Harris 'Kitty' Hellberg, 84

Clela Harris "Kitty" Hellberg, 84, passed away, Tuesday, April 6, 2004, in Sandpoint. Private services have been held.

Kitty was born on Feb. 6, 1920, near DeSoto, Ga., to Thomas and Genevieve Harris. She grew up and attended schools in the Atlanta area. She moved to Yankeetown, Fla., in 1964 where she lived on a private island, and served as post master until retirement in 1991. She then moved to Sandpoint to be closer to her family.

She enjoyed gardening and raising flowers, especially orchids. She also spent time reading and sewing.

She is survived by her daughter, Jan (Dominic) Masut of Homosassa, Fla.; four grandchildren Leigh (Joe) Mire of Sandpoint, Eric (Julina) Skinner of Sandpoint, Laurie Barry of Ft. Worth, Texas, and Cole Skinner of Lexington, Ky.; five great-grandchildren, Matt, Travis and Ashleigh Mire, and Ryan and Beth Skinner; and two sisters, Arla (George) Gibbs of Greensboro, N.C., and Viola (Roy) Miller of Salem, Va.
