Timberwolves top Bulldogs in IEL tennis action

COEUR d'ALENE — Doubles play was key as Lake City defeated Sandpoint 7-5 in a coed match on Monday.

The Timberwolves won five of six doubles matches, however the Bulldogs swept all of the boys singles matches with wins by Tim Neidhardt, Logan Jones-Olson and Geoff Klein.

Lake City's top girls single, Bevin Docherty, was the only Timberwolf to win a point. She defeated Zibby Keaton 7-5, 6-2. Meanwhile, Sandpoint's Kelsey James and Lauren Fiedler earned wins for the girls in singles action.

BOYS SINGLES — No. 1, Tim Neidhardt, Spt, d. Craig Estep 6-0, 6-0. No. 2, Logan Johns-Olson, Spt, d. Russ Coler 6-2, 6-2. No. 3, Geoff Klein, Spt, d. Curtis Knight 6-2, 6-3.

BOYS DOUBLES — No. 1, John Werre-Ben Mueller, LC, d. Del Armstrong-Liam Orton 7-6 (7-4), 5-7, 6-4. No. 2, Byron Gray-James Larson, LC, d. Jesse Petty-Tyler Wahlin 6-1, 6-0.

MIXED DOUBLES — No. 1, Trevor Pierce-Cristen Rieben, LC, d. Jaime Hedrick-Pat Hoffman 6-1, 6-2. No. 2, James Souza-Diana Canas, LC, d. Victoria Johnson-Patrick Orton 6-1, 6-1.
