Lovell leads Bulldogs at Moscow Invitational

MOSCOW — In their best team performance of the season, the Sandpoint boys golf team combined for a score of 339 at the Moscow Invitational on Tuesday.

Coeur d'Alene and Post Falls finished 1-2, while the Bulldogs were sixth out of the 15 teams that posted scores.

Leading the way for Sandpoint was Joey Lovell, who shot par with a score of 72.

"It was nice to see Joey go out and shoot what he is capable of shooting," said Sandpoint coach Mike Keough.

Zach Boughton of Post Falls earned medalist honors with 68. He shot 37-31 to finish 4 under par.

Moscow had two squads and finished third and twelfth at 314 and 358. Lewiston shot 315 to take fourth place.

Sandpoint and Coeur d'Alene will play a nine-hole match at Hidden Lakes on Friday in preparation for the Krauss Invitational at Avondale on Monday.
