Majority support Sand Creek route

| April 14, 2004 9:00 PM

To bad the NICAN(n'ts), can't get their stories straight. Is is 30, 50, 150 or 300 that packed the meeting? Something funny must have happened on the way to the Forum.

And it's $45 million, not $70 million.

Gee, I don't know Sylvia, mislead or not, at least supporters of the bypass don't have ulterior motives such as continuing their tourist trap storefronts and reality offices, tourists strolling the weeds at the edge of Sand Creek or better yet, the building of upscale housing after maybe, dare they think it, the train tracks are relocated?

All at the expense of the residents renewed access by foot and bicycling traffic to our beach when we no longer have to dodge a major highway cutting through town.

Do we want allot more "Coles" of the world denying us access to the beach?

The through-town route: Dozing a dozen nice homes and cutting off the residential section even more than it is now. Or, the westside route: More than twice as much money, further down the road in time, environmental impact, property acquisition,(note the widening project and right of way fight out near Wal-Mart). And has anyone thought of the obstacle the Dover development will pose, Hummm?

But let's keep voting and voting and voting until enough new people move here so the precious NICAN(n'ts) get their way.

ITD, stick to your guns, the majority still supports the Sand Creek route. The fat lady may not have sung on the Sand Creek bypass going through, but she's up on stage, clearing her throat and tapping the mike.
