William R. Thacker, 77

William R. Thacker, 77, of Vancouver, Wash., passed away Saturday, April 17, 2004.

Services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 24, 2004, at Memorial Gardens Funeral Chapel in Vancouver. Burial will be held at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Sandpoint.

He was born Nov. 8, 1926, in Fouracre, Okla.

William lived in the Sandpoint area for 25 years. He has lived in the Vancouver area for 10 years.

He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He was injured during the service and and was discharged with medical disability.

William was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2453, the Eagles Lodge in Sandpoint, and the American Legion Post 213 in Oklahoma.

He was an avid coin collector, bowler, bee keeper and loved fishing and hunting, and animals.

He is survived by three sons, Thom Thacker of Vancouver, Wash., Joe Thacker of Battle Ground, Wash., and Dan Thacker of Everett, Wash.; two daughters, Ann Marie Thacker of Libby, Mont., and Mary Ann Hilgendorf of Battle Ground; four brothers, Robert Thacker of Wenatchee, Wash., Leonard Thacker of Sandpoint, Andy Thacker of Wenatchee and Fred Thacker of Lebanon, Ore.; a sister, Lillian Owens of Tulsa, Okla.; 12 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
