Royce 'Roy' G. Bond, 81
Royce, "Roy" G. Bond, 81, passed away on Saturday, April 17, 2004, in Sandpoint.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 23, 2004, at Coffelt's Moon Chapel with Pastor Barry Johnson from New Song Bible Church officiating.
Royce was born on Aug. 5, 1922, in Mountain View, Calif., the son of Chester and Grace (Webb) Bond. He grew up and attended schools in Alahambra, Calif., and attended college in Riverside County, Calif. He drove cab in Los Angeles, Calif., for five years.
Royce married Warda McCulloch on July 18, 1942, in Yuma, Ariz. Since 1958, he has been a self-employed businessman. In California, he owned and operated a donut shop and was a partner in an appliance store.
In September 1978, he moved to Sagle, where he continued his entrepreneur skills with the flea market in Sagle and in real estate development.
Additionally, he helped build and finance the senior hall in Sagle. Royce enjoyed talking with people wherever he went.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 62 years, Warda Bond of Sagle; three children, Terry and her husband, Butch Autote of Marlton, N.J., Allen and his wife, Thelma, Bond of Sagle, and Janet Whisenant of Encinitas, Calif.; four grandchildren, Annie Barnes, David Bond, Christy Brittain and Katie Autote; three great-grandchildren, Adam Bond, Andrew Bond and Rebecca Barnes; a brother, Keith and his wife, Laurice, Bond of Paradise, Calif.; and two sisters, Anita Luther of Redlands, Calif., and Alice Williams of Georgetown, Calif. He was preceded in death by his parents.
