Rain dampens Sandpoint sweep

| April 27, 2004 9:00 PM

SANDPOINT — In what could have been Sandpoint's first baseball doubleheader sweep of the season, weather played the role of spoiler in the bottom of the fourth inning of game two.

Sandpoint senior pitcher Brent Scott threw five complete innings for the opening win, with Noah Hawkins relieving him in the sixth to shut down the Tigers 7-2.

In game two, Sandpoint held a one point edge over Timberlake, however lightning and rain sent both teams into their dugouts for the night.

Tyler Crabb and Chris Karle led the Bulldogs at the plate with two hits apiece for the night, with one of Karle being a triple. Quinn Walkington also earned a double.
