OSBURN — The Wallace Miners played their best complete seven innings of baseball at the right possible time on Thursday with a 7-1 win over Bonners Ferry with their arch rival's Kellogg coming to Morehouse Field on Saturday afternoon.

Wallace jumped on the board early as senior Daniel Wick picked up an RBI and Mullan senior Jeff James helped his cause on the mound with a solo homerun to put the Miners up 2-0 after the first inning.

The Miners piled on three more runs in the second as Wick drove in freshman Cody Griffin to make it 5-0. Bonners Ferry finally got on the board as Cody Rubin picked up an RBI single to make it 5-1.

Each team would got scoreless throughout the next two innings, but the Miners would plate the final two runs of the contest as Rubin tossed a pickoff throw into the left field bullpen to score Wick and catcher Vince Lee to make the final score 7-1 on Thursday afternoon.

James pitched a complete game three-hitter for the win, striking out six in the win.
