Professional cleaners help wipe out dust bunnies

| August 17, 2004 9:00 PM

Dust bunnies hide themselves under more American beds than ever before. There are various reasons for this phenomenon.

The first being that we are now a two-income family and moms no longer have large amounts of time to spend on cleaning and, I think secondly, both parents trying to juggle multiple demanding schedules, which makes it difficult at best to keep the home sparkling clean as they did a decade ago.

According to recent studies by the University of Maryland, the average woman spent 27 hours a week cleaning her home in 1965. Today, that figure has dropped to about 16 hours — 16 hours is still a lot of time devoted to pushing a dust mop. It's especially irritating when one realizes that once eradicated grime sneaks right back in as soon as you turn your head.

Cleaning is a drudgery plain and simple. Learning to look the other way when dirt and grime presents themselves strokes a flame in most people's hearts. They just can't leave it there.

Folks, have you ever stopped to consider just what it is costing you to do that? If you take 16 hours a weeks times $10 an hour, that is $160 per week of $320 every two weeks. For that, folks, you can hire a professional cleaning company to clean your home every two weeks freeing you to enjoy the finer things in life.

If you are allergic to any of the above products, please don't use them. Always test fabrics and paints before using any chemical compounds. Please remember to wear rubber gloves to protect your hands and eye protection for your eyes.
