Robert Marion 'Bob' Savage, 72

Robert Marion "Bob" Savage, 72, passed away at Meadowbrook Ranch, the family ranch in Priest River, Idaho, on Saturday, Aug. 21, 2004, due to natural causes.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 28, 2004, at Meadowbrook Ranch, with interment following on the family property.

Bob was born in Coolin, Idaho, on July 25, 1932, the son of Otho and Marie (Van Hoff) Savage. He began his education at East River School, a one-room schoolhouse and, in 1951, graduated from Priest River High School.

As a young man, he worked at the Kaniksu Stock Ranch with Harold Anselmo. He then worked several years with his father at the Priest River Co-op, where the present Feedmill Restaurant is located.

Bob logged many years with Ron MacDonald, before working again with Mr. Anselmo for the Bonner County Road Department. He quit in 1978 to begin working full-time at the ranch.

On June 5, 1953, he married Juanita Dale in Sandpoint, Idaho.

He was a member of the Blue Lake Community Club and a past member of the Settlement Grange.

Bob enjoyed fishing, hunting, family events and pinochle.

Besides his wife at their home, he is survived by one son, Robert Michael (and Cindy) Savage of Oldtown; two daughters, Elaine Savage and Cheri Fisher, both of Priest River; two grandchildren, Michelle (and Jeff) Hawkins of Irving, Texas, and Shaun Savage of Oldtown; four brothers, Edwin (and Alice) Savage and Otho "Bobby" (and Carolyn) Savage, all of Priest River, Gene (and Wanda) Savage of Sandpoint, and Vernon (and Jenny) Savage of Pahrump, Nev.; and five sisters, Juanita Saul of Camas Valley, Ore., Emma (and Larry) Scott of Colorado, Johanna Blomenkamp and Mary Savage, both of Priest River; and Dottie (and Russ) Yerkes of Sandpoint.

His parents, in-laws, Vera Dale and Calvin Huff; and a nephew, Wayne Savage, all preceded him in death.

Memorial contributions are recommended to North Idaho Cancer Center in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, or to the Blue Lake Community Center.
