Melissa Piephoff had three straight service aces in the second game to help Timberlake erase a three-point deficit and the Tigers (1-0) rolled to their first win of the season, defeating Clark Fork 25-9, 25-19, 25-13.

"We were in control most of the time. I thought Corina Beyer and Malarie Foster hit well tonight," Timberlake coach Michelle Garwood.

Malarie Foster finished with eight assists for the Tigers. Erin Macklin had three blocks.

Jennifer Gauthier led the Wampus Cats (0-1) with four kills and 17 digs. Tiffany Van Buren finished with 30 digs and three kills.

"She had an awesome game," said Clark Fork coach Katie Hess.

Wampus Cat junior Kaylynn Wold served 12 points and earned 15 digs.

"Wold, who is a very strong server, had a great night," Hess added. "Plus we had strong passing all night long."

Timberlake plays a nonleague tri-match at Lakeland on Thursday against Lakeland and Bonners Ferry.

Clark Fork plays Falls Christian at home at 6 p.m. on Thursday. The Wampus Cats will then travel to play Selkirk on Saturday.
