Gerald L. 'Jerry' Banks, 57
Gerald L. "Jerry" Banks, 57, passed away, Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2004, at his home near Sandpoint, Idaho, after a courageous two year battle with cancer.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Dec. 3, 2004, at the Lakeview Funeral Home in Sandpoint with Pastor Barry Johnson of the New Song Bible Church officiating.
Jerry was born in Plymouth, Ind., on May 9, 1947, to Clifford W. and Nancy Banks.
He married his high school sweetheart, Marlene Bedra on Sept. 17, 1966, in Buena Park, Calif.
Jerry worked for Hughes Aircraft in California as a tool and die maker for 15 years.
He and Marlene moved to Sandpoint in 1974 and built their home. He worked for the Lake Pend Oreille School District maintenance department for 30 years. Jerry received an "Employee Achievement Award" in recognition of his high standards of performance and his commitment to quality and service on Feb. 18, 1992.
He excelled at every challenge and was much loved and admired. Jerry's hobbies were fishing and woodworking. He made beautiful and treasured gifts for family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife, Marlene Banks of Sandpoint, Idaho; a son, Dale Banks of Spirit Lake, Idaho; two grandsons, Clifford and Gary Banks of Spirit Lake; his parents, Clifford W. and Nancy Banks of Sandpoint; three sisters, Nancy Kerr of Sandpoint, Sandra Cartwright of Spokane, Wash., and Pamela Ogle of Salem, Ore.; and a brother, Clifford A. Banks of Sandpoint.
