Audrey Faye (Mask) McLam-Goodwin

Audrey Faye (Mask) McLam-Goodwin passed away at her home in Bellingham, Wash., on Nov. 27, 2004.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 11, 2004, at The Valley Open Bible Church, N. 905 McDonald Road in Spokane, Wash., with Pastor Gary Hebden conducting the services.

Audrey was born in Bernalillo, N.M., on May 23, 1938, the twin daughter of Aubrey James and Mary Mask. Her twin sister is Rhoda Mae Shaw.

Audrey started school in New Mexico. In August 1946, she moved with her family to a farm in Sagle, Idaho. She attended school in Sagle and later in Sandpoint.

During her school days, she was active in Girl Scouts and 4-H. She was very proficient in sewing and sewed many garments for herself, her children and grandchildren. The beautiful cross-stitch pictures that she made, matted and framed, are cherished by everyone who received them.

Audrey's lifetime ambition was to be a nurse. She accomplished this ambition and worked in the field of nursing for many years at Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane, Wash. She was admired and respected by patients, nurses and doctors for her compassion and skills in the nursing field. She retired from nursing in 1998.

Audrey married Jim Applington in September 1954. Her three beloved children were born of this union.

She later married Jerome McLam in June 1966. They made their home in Spokane and spent more than 30 happy years together there, raising and enjoying their children, until Jerry's death in December 1997.

In February 1999, she married a widower, James Goodwin.

Audrey is survived by her husband, James Goodwin; three children, David (Colleen) Applington of Spokane, Patrick Applington of Spokane and Diana Ordway of Dayton, Ohio; four stepchildren, Rob McLam of Utah, Pam McLam of California, and Sherrie and Carrie Goodwin of Kirkland, Wash.; five grandchildren, Jerome, Jason, Brent, Cory and Jennifer. Three step-grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; a brother, Jesse (Bonnie) Mask of Spokane; and three sisters, Lillian (Dick) Spade of Sagle, Barbara (Tom) Spade of Sandpoint, and her twin sister, Rhoda (Morgan) Shaw of Pearce, Ariz. She also is survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a husband, Jerome McLam; her parents, Aubrey James and Mary Mask; a sister, Billie Jo Mask; and three nephews.

Audrey will be remembered by all who knew her for her zest for life, her love for family and friends and her loving and caring heart.
