June Louise (Flink) DeMinter

| December 10, 2004 8:00 PM

June Louise (Flink) DeMinter entered into rest on Friday, Dec. 3, 2004.

At her request, no services will be held.

She was born on July 1, 1924, to August M. Flink and Edna L. Flodtrom in Missoula, Mont. The family moved to Wallace, where she graduated from Wallace High School in 1942.

After high school, June attended and graduated from the University of Washington and St. Luke's School of Nursing. She went on to become the supervisor of surgery at St. Luke's Hospital at the age of 25.

June was a talented musician and played in a local band in Wallace called the Stardusters. Mr. Squires called her the "Queen of Honky Tonk." Put her in front of a piano and a party was sure to start.

She married John F. Dotson in 1948 and had two children, John Craig Dotson and Jane Louise Dotson. They divorced and June later married her high school "crush" Albert S. "Bud" DeMinter. They loved their second home at Sunnyside on Lake Pend Orielle. There June met her longtime fishing and music buddies, Tom Newbill and Charlie Packard. They gave her many happy memories … "You are the sunshine of my life"…. Her family thanks you.

The family of June would like to thank her neighbor and lifelong friend Laurie Picken. Her devotion to June can never be repaid. You were a true friend.

June was preceded in death by her husband, Bud DeMinter; a sister, Marjorie Eslick; and a son, John C. Dotson. She is survived by her daughter, Jane McLeish; grandchildren, Chuck Ryan, Jessica Ryan-McLeish, Jennifer Whiteley, Joseph Dotson, Nicholas Dotson and Gwendolyn Bell; and eight great-grandchildren.

Contributions may be made to the Spokane Humane Society.

Riplinger Funeral Home of Spokane is in charge of arrangements.
