Wallace 66, Clark Fork 31

CLARK FORK — The Clark Fork Wampus Cats were dominated 66-31 by the Miners in their very first North Star League game Tuesday night.

Nevertheless, Clark Fork girls basketball coach Mark Steven said, "I'm actually happy the way we played, because Wallace will likely be the best team in our league. Plus, we're still growing and I'm seeing improvement each week."

Leading the way for Clark Fork was junior Rachelle Trunnell who scored nine points and grabbed nine rebounds.

"She is really starting to become a strong force for us," said Stevens. "She is getting better and better each week. She played strong tonight."

Tiffany VanBuren had eight points, three assists and eight rebounds for the Wampus Cats, while Jolene Meredith added eight points.

Clark Fork (0-1, 0-3) plays host to Selkirk, Wash. on Tuesday.
