People helping people
The volunteers, officers and commissioners of the Westside Fire District would like to thank Cheryl McMahon, Christine Duhamel and Ben Franklin Crafts and Custom Framing for their generous donations of Christmas decorations. Since the onset of the current EMS crisis that has enveloped Bonner County, the volunteers of the Westside Fire District have committed themselves to the citizens of the district and Bonner County as a whole by keeping personnel at the station staffing the ambulance 24 hours a day. The donations brought a much-needed boost to the spirits of these dedicated and motivated individuals.
Training is at the core of any emergency response organization, rather it be fire, EMS or law enforcement. In this spirit, the Westside Fire District would also like to thank Vince Croy and Northwest Auto Body and Towing and Dan Smith and Evergreen Towing for their donations of automobiles and their delivery to our live fire training on Oct. 30. Westside fire also appreciates Peaks Sand and Gravel of Dover for allowing the department to utilize its facilities for this training.
People rely on their local emergency responders in their time of need, but what happens when an emergency responder needs help? We call upon other local responders, in this case Westside Fire would like to thank the Priest River EMT Association. During this troubled time, Priest River loaned an ambulance and supplies, which allowed our volunteers to respond to the calls for help in our communities.
Most of all Westside Fire District would like to thank the citizens of the communities, which we serve, your constant support and appreciation is what keeps us going. We are here for you when you need us, because you are here for us when we need you.
