Why are adults acting like kids over field?

Come on, folks. What's wrong with this picture? Can't we figure out a solution to this problem?
Here we have great, existing athletic fields next to the Sandpoint Middle School and Sandpoint High School, in a picture-perfect location; and the kids can't use 'em because some of us are fighting over restrooms?
I'm confused. Just build some toilets — portables or cinder block — who cares? Pass the hat around, I'll throw in ten bucks.
As for the appeals and protests of the project by the owners of the neighboring senior apartments, I'm still confused. I thought that most of us older folks enjoyed watching athletic events.
