Francine White, 67, passed away on Monday, Dec. 13, 2004, in Clark Fork, Idaho.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2004, at Clark Fork Cemetery in Clark Fork. Pastor Barry Johnson from New Song Bible Church will officiate.

Francine was born Aug. 7, 1937 in Dallas, Ore., the daughter of Amos and Ilene (Gatens) Teninty.

Every year she looked forward to watching her grandson, Mike, play football and never missed a game. She was such an avid fan that after they won the state playoffs two years ago, she ran more than 50 yards to hug her grandson. The following year, the car broke down on the freeway and a state police officer stopped to help. She was asked what was more important, watching her grandson play football or getting a tow truck. Needless to say, her first ride in the back of a police car was to a football game more than 40 miles away with her daughter, Kathy. I can still remember looking at Mom and she had this big smile on her face and I said, "Gee, Mom. I never thought my first time in a police car would be with you." She just looked at me and smiled, "Isn't this wonderful?"

Francine was a very kind and giving person and never asked for anything in return except the love from her children and grandchildren.

Francine moved to Clark Fork in 1997 and the story she tells when people asked how she came to be here, she would just smile and say my son-in-law had said if my stuff was on the porch when I get back, you can go. In less than one week, she sold her home and was off to Idaho.

She loved to look at the Cabinet Mountains every day. She enjoyed bird watching and feeding the squirrels in her front yard. Francine loved to go for drives in the mountains and collecting rocks. She also enjoyed her morning coffee and family barbecues. She always looked forward to fishing with her grandchildren.

Francine's passion besides her children and grandchildren has been her genealogy. She had spent more than 50 years researching not only her family but countless hours helping other people as well.

She had been a wonderful mother and grandmother and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by children, Terry (Carole) Chowning of Clark Fork, Steven Fuller of Isla Vista, Calif., Kathy (Dave) Johnson of Clark Fork and Julie (Dale) Grothmann of Lebanon, Ore.; 14 grandchildren, Angela Hash, Christy Roberts, Tammy Martinmaas, Nathan Hash, Cheri Johnson, Helena Chowning, Briana Roundsville, Michael Johnson, Destiny Neuenschwander, Chase Chowning, Chance DeWitt, Jennifer Hays, Carolyn Speelmon and Amanda Valdes; 16 great-grandchildren; her parents, Ilene Doty of Newport, Ore., and Amos Teninty of Tillamook, Ore.; two sisters, Elsie Remington and Jan Wilson; and a brother, Jay Teninty. Francine was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Hash; and a grandson, David "Davy" Johnson Jr.

Arrangements are under the care of Coffelt Funeral Service of Sandpoint.
