Selkirk slips past Clark Fork

CLARK FORK — The Wampus Cats are showing signs of improvement, but it was not enough Tuesday to snap the team's losing skid.

Clark Fork struggled to hem in Selkirk's offense, allowing the Rangers to come away with a 52-41 win.

But freshman point guard Mike Martin turned his a solid performance for starting his first game and finished the contest with 5 points. Clayton Hewitt and Kyle Ruen, meanwhile, fared well on the boards, tallying 11 and 8 rebounds, respectively. Stephen McDaniel added 6 rebounds.

"I'm pleased with my guys' effort and we're headed in the right direction," said Clark Fork Coach Jamie Hand.

Clark Fork racked up 28 turnovers and Hand said his focus in the coming days will be to dial in the guards' control.

Clark Fork is set to play at the Rosalia tournament in Washington on Dec. 28.
