TRAIL, B.C. — The Riley Creek Lakers traveled to Canada and split an American Legion doubleheader with Trail Tuesday.

Trail pitcher Chris Kissock threw a two-hitter in the first game to beat Sandpoint 2-0.

"Both teams played great. We just didn't hit the ball," said Sandpoint coach Rick Klontz, of game one. "We left five runners in scoring position, three of those runners were left on third base. Overall I was pleased with our performance. Brent Scott pitched a great game it's just to bad we couldn't give him the offensive support to win that game."

Sandpoint beat Trail 7-1 in second game. Adam Hodges started and earned win, while Mike Peak came on in relief.

"Hodges had another great start and our bats came alive," he said. "I was very pleased that we were able to come back out and win that second game. The guys got focused and got the job done."
