Benard V. 'Ben' Moe

Benard V. "Ben" Moe of Oldtown passed away peacefully at home on June 28, 2004.

There will be a potluck memorial service at his home on Saturday, July 10, from noon to 4 p.m., at 5296 Old Priest River Road, Oldtown. All of his friends are welcome.

Ben was born April 19, 1929, in Plentywood, Mont., to Ben and Marie Moe.

He served in the Army from 1953-1959. He then met and married his wife of 43 years, Gerry, in Barrie, Ontario, Canada. They lived in Montana while he worked for the Army Reserves.

The couple then moved to Libby, Mont., where he started his career with the Army Corps of Engineers. They then moved to the Oldtown area in 1971 where he worked for the Albeni Falls project.

Ben retired in 1992.

He is survived by his wife, Gerry; four daughters, Anna Marie of Sandpoint, Vick Moe and Michael Barnes of Mead, Wash., Tammy and Aaron Nickelson of Okanogan, Wash., and paula and Michael Jenne of Oldtown; and five grandchildren, Schyanna, Ashley and Rebecca Jenne and Madison and Emma Moe-Nickelson.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Arthur and Marvin.
