Dorothy E. Larson, 92

Dorothy E. Larson, 92, passed away on Monday, June 21, 2004, in Coeur d' Alene.

Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, July 10, 2004, at the First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Dr. Nancy Copeland-Payton officiating. Inurnment will be held at 9 a.m., Saturday, July 10, 2004, at Evergreen Cemetery in Priest River.

Dorothy was born on Oct. 12, 1911 in Weymouth, England, the daughter of Albert John and Frances Victoria (Corben) Cozens. She attended high school in Edinburgh, Scotland, and received her nursing degree at the Royal Cancer and Guys Hospital in London, England.

As a registered nurse she served England at the Dover Military Hospital during World War II (1935-1945). For her outstanding service, Dorothy became a member of the Order of the British Empire.

Dorothy came to the United States on June 20, 1946, with her husband Larry Brown. The couple lived in Sandpoint until his death in 1947. Dorothy worked at the hospital and for Dr. Peterson.

Dorothy married Quentin Larson on Nov. 20, 1960, in Sandpoint. She became an American citizen in 1962. In 1965 they moved to Tillimook, Ore., and then to Santa Rosa, Calif. In 1974 after retiring, they returned to Sandpoint to the home they had rented out while living in Portland, Ore. Dorothy and Quentin moved to Coeur d' Alene on Dec. 6, 2002, where she resided until her death.

She is survived by her husband, Quentin Larson of Coeur d' Alene. Also she is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents and first husband Larry Brown.
