Local little leaguers battle in Hayden

HAYDEN — Devon Loy pitched and hit Hayden White to a 15-3 victory over Boundary County on Friday at the Idaho District 1 age 9-10 tournament at Finucane Park.

Loy pitched three no-hit innings, striking out four for Hayden White (2-1 in pool play). He went 3 for 4 with two doubles, drove in two runs and scored three. Zack Osmanski and Hunter Kraft each scored three runs for the winners.

Alex Aubrey doubled and scored a run for Boundary (0-3).

Lakeland 6

Timberlake 5

HAYDEN — Lakeland improved to 3-0 in pool play, scoring five runs in the first two innings. Jeremy McKinney picked up the win for Lakeland and J.D. Page came on and pitched well for Timberlake (0-3).

Hayden Red 11

Sandpoint 5

HAYDEN — Joe Roletto went 2 for 4, including a two-run inside-the park homer for the winners (3-0). He also was the winning pitcher. Ryan Schwartz scored three runs for Sandpoint (1-2).

HAYDEN — Clinton Koopal's grand slam triggered a six-run eruption in the first inning for Hayden (3-0 in pool play). Ryan Dunton went 3 for 3 with a double and two runs scored, and combined with Jake Pereira on a one-hitter.

Timberlake is 0-3.

Lakeland 6

Boundary County 5

HAYDEN — Gage Long scored the winning run in the bottom of the sixth on an error for Lakeland (2-1). He also pitched a perfect fifth and sixth inning to pick up the win. Josh Ragan went 3 for 3 with a home run and two RBIs.

Luke Poppino and Robby Gust each homered for Boundary (1-2).

Coeur d'Alene 11

Sandpoint 0

HAYDEN — Jacob Keevy pitched a one-hitter for Coeur d'Alene (3-0). Aldan Bennett hit a bases-loaded triple, Garrett Cabeza was 3 for 3 with two RBIs and Devon Austin was 2 for 3 with a double.

Sandpoint is 0-3.
