Perk up your ears, solution eliminates coffee stains

| July 13, 2004 9:00 PM

That first cup of coffee in the morning really hits the spot. I think I must have holes in my lips because sometimes it ends up on my shirt and nothing looks worse than brown dribble marks running down my shirt.

If this has ever happened to you try this:

1. Get one 16-ounce spray bottle

2. Pour one tablespoon of Dawn detergent into the spray bottle.

3. Pour 3 ounces of peroxide into the spray bottle.

4. Pour 4 ounces of ammonia into the spray bottle.

5. Pour 3 ounces of rubbing alcohol into the spray bottle.

6. Fill the balance of the bottle with water and gently mix this solution together.

Spray the spot, give it a few minutes and watch the stain disappear. If the stain has dried, spray the spot and agitate the stain with a tooth brush and spray it again. Rinse with cold water and blot the spot dry with white cloth. Note: Be very careful in using this spot remover because it very alkaline, it will show about 11 or 12 on a pH scale. Do not use it on wool. silk. or other delicate linens and materials.

If you are allergic to any of the above products, please don't use them. Always test fabric and paints before using any chemical compounds. Please remember to wear rubber gloves to protect your hands and eye protection for your eyes.
