Mitchell Thomas Coon

Mitchell Thomas Coon, 11, passed away at his home on Grouse Meadows on July 21, 2004.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 28, 2004. The service will be held in the Northside School on Colburn Culver Road. Interment will follow in the Pack River Cemetery.

Friends may call to pay their respects on Tuesday, July 27, from noon to 6 p.m. at Coffelt's Moon Chapel.

Mitchell was born on April 20, 1993, in Templeton, Calif., the son of Lester and Marianne Coon. He moved to Grouse Meadows near Sandpoint in June 1993 with his family. He attended Northside Elementary and had just completed the fifth grade.

He was active in Boy Scout Troop 111, played in the SSA Soccer League and played basketball in the RecOp League. He enjoyed archery, whittling with his knife and riding his bicycles and skateboard.

He liked all outdoor activities and going shooting with his dad.

He is survived by his parents, Lester and Marianne Coon of Sandpoint; a brother, Zach Coon of Sandpoint; grandparents Darlene Coon of Sandpoint and June Sprague of Paso Robles, Calif.; a great-grandmother, Dorothy Nichols of Sandpoint; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by two grandfathers and a grandmother.

Funeral arrangements are under the care of Coffelt Funeral Service.
