Rosemary Arleen 'Dolly' Turnbull, 76
Rosemary Arleen "Dolly" Turnbull, 76, passed away at her home in Sagle on May 31, 2004.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, June 4, 2004, in Coffelt's Moon Chapel. Dale Coffelt will officiate with interment following in Westmond Cemetery.
Friends may call at Coffelt's Moon Chapel on Thursday afternoon until 6 p.m.
Dolly was born in Mott, N.D., on April 17, 1928, the daughter of William and Sarah Eldred. The family moved to the Sagle area in 1936 and Dolly attended the Sagle School.
She worked at Farragut Naval Station, in Yellowstone National Park and at a cannery near Ellensburg, Wash. On Jan. 26, 1953, she married Harp Turnbull in Bonners Ferry.
She and Harp operated a family farm, feeding cattle out for the fat cattle market. The ranch was established in 1884 by the Turnbull family.
The Westmond Cemetery has been managed by the Turnbulls for many years with Dolly serving as secretary since the 1980s. Dolly was instrumental in organizing the revitalization of the cemetery. This was done with volunteers, hard work and devotion.
Dolly loved being outdoors, hunting and fishing.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Harp Turnbull of Sagle; a brother, Walt Eldred of Sagle; two sisters, Laura Carothers of Sagle and Margaret Popovich of Tacoma, Wash.; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Lester, Phillip, Bob and Marvin; and a sister, Bunny Turk.
