Memories of Reagan recalled

A recent weekend brought back a couple of memories to me.
The first was in the late 1950s. I was in downtown Spokane near the Davenport Hotel. I walked by this person and nodded and said, "hi." His face was familiar, he nodded back and said, "hi."
After I went by and was down the street, I realized it was Ronald Reagan. He was a movie star and looked familiar to me.
The second memory was during the 1984 campaign. A fellow came in to our lumber yard that I operated with my fabricating business in Spokane. He needed a few pieces of lumber for a stand they were putting up.
It was a real surprise when he wrote me a check. It turned out to be from the Reagan-Bush '84 campaign.
