Westside byway route would be best choice

| March 1, 2004 8:00 PM

The article on the U.S. Highway 95 corridor project in the Daily Bee (Feb. 28, 2004) was an eye-opener. "The goal is to wind up with a four-lane divided highway linking Bonner and Kootenai counties."

Consider the implications of this for the proposed Sand Creek Byway. Is anyone naive enough to think that a four-lane divided highway can magically shrink down to two lanes at the south end of the Long Bridge?

Unless we want a four-lane highway down Sand Creek we'd better start thinking seriously about the westside bypass.
