Robert J. Strand, 82

Robert J. Strand, 82, of Coeur d'Alene passed away on Wednesday, March 3, 2004, at Kootenai Medical Center in Coeur d'Alene.

Private family services will be held at a later date.

Robert was born June 19, 1921, in Casland, Wash., the son of Elvin O. and Mildred L. (Turner) Strand.

During World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy.

He grew up in the Spokane, Sandpoint and Coeur d'Alene area, where he lived for 30 years.

Robert married Helen Maxine Hughes on Nov. 8, 1941, in Vancouver, Wash.

He retired as a supervisor at Pacific Northwest Bell in Spokane, Wash. He was a member of Telephone Pioneers and the Church of the Wildwood in Sagle.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Helen Strand at their home; two sons, James Strand of Coeur d'Alene and Kenneth Strand of Spokane; and grandchildren, Jammie, Jason, Justin, Jennick and Jeremy.
