Rose Alma Marie White, 93

Rose Alma Marie White, 93, passed away on Sunday, March 7, 2004, in Sandpoint.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 11, 2004, in Coffelt's Moon Chapel. She will be buried next to her husband at White Chapel Cemetery in Troy, Mich.

Rose was born on July 16, 1910, in Kankakee, Ill., one of 14 children born to Nelda and Louis Harpin. Both of her parents were second-generation French and her father delivered milk in a horse-drawn wagon.

All of the children, including Rose, were obligated to leave school after finishing the eighth grade and go to work to help support the family.

At 18 years old, Rose came to Michigan to visit her sister, Marle, in 1923, where she met her future husband, Floyd Horace White. They were married on Oct. 23, 1928, and were married 55 years until her husband passed away on March 24, 1983, at 78 years old.

Rose is survived by two children, Alma Campbell of Sandpoint and Floyd White of Michigan; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; seven brothers and six sisters.

Arrangements are under the care of Coffelt Funeral Services, Inc. of Sandpoint.
