Charles Campbell Garner

Charles Campbell Garner, 59, passed away March 20, 2004, surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer.

Funeral services will be held at noon Thursday, March 25, 2004, at the Magna Utah South Stake Center, Magna 7731 W. 3500 S. The viewing will be held from 11 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. prior to services. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. at the MAR Cemetery in Rupert, on Friday, March 26, 2004.

Charles was born May 20, 1944, in Rupert to Dean and Maxine Garner. He was raised on a farm and learned to work hard. He served in the Irish mission for the LDS church.

Charles married Judy Bennett on May 19, 1966, in the Idaho Falls Temple, and they were blessed with eight children and, at present, 18 grandchildren. He and his family lived in Rupert, Sandpoint and Salt Lake City, Utah.

He loved music and had a great singing voice. He had an abundance of talent and a gift for fixing it or inventing a better way. He used his aptitude in working with his hands to serve others and to share the gospel. His callings were many in the LDS church. He was passionate about life, and his family was his greatest wealth and joy.

He was a loving husband and father to Judy and their children Shane (Sherrie) Garner, Jolene (Mike) Panter, Julie (Bryan) Dryden, Jeanne (Christopher) Anderson, Jan (Greg) Trujillo, Stephen (Gretchen) Garner, Shawn (Brittany) Garner and his oldest son, Tad, who proceeded him in death as an infant.

Services are under the direction of Peel Funeral Home in Magna.
