Eleanor Anne Miller, 96, passed away Sunday, March 21, 2004, in Sandpoint.

Memorial services will be held at 4:30 p.m. Monday, March 29, 2004, at First Lutheran Church on Olive and Ontario with Pastor David Olson officiating. She will be laid to rest with her husband at Greenlawn Cemetery in Akron, Ohio.

Eleanor was born Oct. 16, 1907, in Doylestown, Ohio, one of 10 children born to Joseph and Ada (Acker) Myers. She grew up and attended schools in Akron, Ohio, and graduated from high school in 1925. She attended Akron University for a short time.

Eleanor was a secretary for B.F. Goodrich until 1935. She married C.O. Miller on June 25, 1935, in Akron. In 1952, she began substitute teaching and finished her schooling. She taught school at Turkeyfoot Grade School in Akron.

She moved to Azusa, Calif., in 1958 and worked in the Azusa School District, teaching at Foothill Elementary School and Azusa High School. In 1972, she retired and moved to Sandpoint, where she was a substitute teacher until 1987.

She was a member of the Rebecca Circle at First Lutheran Church, where she attended church for many years. Eleanor also was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma and the Sandpoint Civic Club. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Eleanor is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Bill and Nancy Miller, Larry and Barbara Miller and Ray and Betsy Miller, all of Sandpoint; six grandchildren, Jennifer Miller, Steven Miller, Randy Miller, Raelyn Miller-Empey, Ann Miller and Meredith Miller; and three great-grandchildren, Ashley, Darrin and Gracelyn. Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, C.O. Miller in 1952; five brothers and four sisters.

Memorial donations may be made to First Lutheran Church Scholarship Fund, 526 S. Olive St., Sandpoint, Idaho, 83864.
