Bonners, Kellogg - to be continued

| March 30, 2004 8:00 PM

OSBURN — To be continued April 17.

After a comeback from the Kellogg Wildcats to move ahead of the visiting Bonners Ferry Badgers, the light held up long enough for the Badgers to answer back and then call Tuesday's game due to darkness.

Badger Ben Turner got the offense going with a three-run homerun in the top of the first inning, but the Badgers would be quickly answered as Kellogg senior Daniel Myles would come around to score to get the Wildcats on the board.

Kellogg would tie the game at 3-3, but the Badgers would go ahead 5-3 going into the sixth inning. The Wildcats would begin to put themselves back into the contest, eventually tying the game on a throwing error to make the score 5-5.

Wildcat junior Andre Bircher would put Kellogg in the lead 6-5 with two outs in the sixth. Kevin Nansel added an RBI to put the Wildcats ahead 7-5 going into the seventh inning.

However, the Wildcats were unable to hold the lead and the Badgers were unable to take it from them as the umpires stopped the game on account of darkness at 7-7 in the top of the seventh inning.

Kellogg (2-2) will travel to Priest River Saturday for a doubleheader starting at noon.
