Clark Fork trackster finish second at NSL meet

RATHDRUM — Leading the Clark Fork girls to a second place finish, Rashell Trunnell placed first in the 300 meter hurdles at the North Star League track and field meet in Rathdrum on Tuesday.

Kootenai's boys and girls rolled to titles with 112 and 131 points, respectively.

Leading the Wampus Cat boys to second place was Brian Young. The Clark Fork sophomore was uncontested in the 110 high hurdles and finished with a time of 18.87 second. He also won the 300 hurdles with a time of 45.51.

Clark Fork junior Clayton Hewitt won the discus with a throw of 117 feet, five inches. He also won the high jump by clearing 5'6".

The state-qualifying 1A Region 1 meet, originally scheduled for Kootenai, will be held at Kamiah on May 14-15.
