BGH treated loved one with respect, dignity

| May 12, 2004 9:00 PM

Our father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Lester Gissel, passed away last month. His loss is keenly felt by all of the Gissels. For the last six days of his life, he was hospitalized at Bonner General Hospital.

While we were focused on Lester during that period of time and what became his last illness, we did not pay attention to much else. However, one matter that did come to our attention again and again was the high level of care, attention and professionalism of every member of the Bonner General Hospital doctors, nurses, and staff who tended to Lester and his needs during those last days. Lester was treated extremely well during his final days, far beyond what any of us expected.

Death of a loved one is a very private matter. However, when you experience such a high degree of professionalism from those who are important in your life, and particularly the life of your loved one, it is appropriate to bring the public's attention to that experience. Thus, the reason for this letter.

The Gissel family will always hold the staff at Bonner General Hospital with the highest esteem and affection. From the bottom of our hearts, we wish to thank you all for honoring Lester during his final days by providing him with such a high level of care, attention and professionalism
