Everyone must feel safe in our schools

Our teachers and students should feel safe in our schools. The schools should be a sanctuaries of teaching and learning. If a student says to his teacher, "You can't fail me, I'd kill you," then the zero tolerance policy should mean just that. No questions. No doubts. Many children grow up today being allowed to express threats, rudeness, and general disregard for authority, because we have a school board and parents who bend and spin basic meaning of human respect. Come on folks, "Teach your children well."
