Skinner, Webb take home medalist honors
SANDPOINT — Bishop Kelly's Jake Skinner and Hillcrest's Courtney Webb took home medalist honors Monday on the first day of the 4A golf championships played at Hidden Lakes.
A little hail, some lightning and a deluge halfway through the round made for some excitement as players, coaches and fans scrambled for cover and put the tournament about an hour behind.
Webb defeated Kuna's two-time state champion, Eli Brown, to take the championship. In the boys' contest a one-hole playoff determined second through fourth-place.
The top five boys' and girls' teams square off today for the team championship.
