Trojans finish fourth at 4A State Golf Tournament
SANDPOINT — The Post Falls boys' golf team concluded their first trip to the 4A State Tournament with a fourth place finish, while Bishop Kelly captured the boys title at Hidden Lakes Golf Resort Tuesday.
The Trojans were led by Nick Cuchessi, who finished with the day's best score of 73.
"Nick did a great job. He was real competitive," said Post Falls coach Craig Newton. "I'm really pleased that we made state and that we qualified for the second day. Everyone of these kids are responsible for that. It really was a team effort all the way through."
Leading the 4A girls, Caldwell earned top team honors with a two-day score of 684. Bishop Kelly's girls were second with 785.
As the hosting coach, Mike Keough was pleased with the tournament overall.
"I think the parents and coaches all enjoyed being up here on the course," said Keough. "And I got a lot of positive comments from the kids as well."
