Carter has qualities needed for assessor

| May 19, 2004 9:00 PM

Dear Bonner County voters,

Primary elections are coming soon.

Many candidates are running this year, so be informed. As widow of our last assessor, Jim Boatwright, I have strong feelings about the position he vacated. So, I wish to express reasons I will vote for Steven Carter for assessor.

1) Steve is courteous and has a listening ear. He never rages or makes decisions because of personal bias. He will run the office professionally and with consideration for the public and staff.

2) Steve is just as concerned about fairness in taxation as Jim was. He will not play politics or buy votes with promises.

3) Steve is the most qualified because of his vast experience in both residential and commercial appraisals. Be assured, commercial reviews the Assessor must make can greatly affect taxes.

4) Steve Carter shares Jim's love of serving the people and his compassion for helping the elderly.

5) Carter is a team player and will work well with other public officials.

6 ) Steve is a forward-thinking man. He appreciates the business community and looks forward to assisting them.

7) Carter is computer-literate and will move ahead with the new programs needed to meet state-regulated requirements and update the office.

8) Steve is a hard worker and will earn his keep.

9) Steve is a really nice guy, but also a strong leader.

10) My biggest reason … Hands down, Steve Carter would have been the person Jim Boatwright would have chosen to complete his fours years as Bonner County assessor.

Vote Steven Carter for assessor!
