Runners rally for the aspirin
SANDPOINT — With the weather cooperating, nearly 130 runners, walkers and strollers set their sights on completing the Lost in the 50's Aspirin Rally 5K Race Sunday across the Long Bridge.
Many dressed in their pajamas, to set the tone of this year's theme, complete with bunny slippers.
Taking home the trophies this year were Steve Finley, who finished as the fastest male runner at 17 minutes, 23 seconds. He was closely followed by David Takeshita and Keith Hertel.
The fastest female award was won by Allison Delong (21:31). She was followed by Stephanie Bennett and Lauriea Blume.
Other award winners were Kristopher Hertel, age 3, who won the youngest runner and Vivienne Rich, who took home the geritol award as the senior contestant.
Karen Hertel won the "Last but not Least" award for coming in last and a trophy went to Toby McNeal for the most outrageous PJs.
