Savage is candidate best qualified for job

| May 19, 2004 9:00 PM

The Idaho primary election is Tuesday, May 25. We have six candidates running for the office of sheriff in Bonner County. I feel that only one of them is qualified and competent. Elaine Savage has had 23 years of law enforcement experience. She has come up through the ranks and was chief of police in Priest River and is currently the Bonner County undersheriff. She attended the FBI Command College in 1999.

Elaine has had much administrative experience which is vitally important in managing more than 100 people and I feel the only candidate capable of handling a budget of approximately $4.5 million. A competent sheriff must not only know the law enforcement side, but must also be an administrator. None of the other candidates have both law enforcement and administration in their background and experience. Don't just vote for a "good ol' boy."

Please vote for the candidate who is the best qualified and the most capable person for the important job of sheriff — Elaine Savage.
