Ray Mac Buechner, 71

On May 19, 2004, Ray Mac Buechner, 71, went to join his loving wife Yvonne E. Buechner of 41 years. Ray was born April 26, 1933 in Eden, Calif. to Marietta Stormat Buechner and Claude F. Buechner.

He attended Moreno Elementary, Riverside Elementary, Midland School, Perris Grammar School and Perris High School.

He joined the army National Guard in 1950. Ray and his twin brother joined the Navy in 1952. In 1956 Ray met Yvonne Elaine Woodworth and married her on Sept. 27 in Corona, Calif. They raised eight children together.

Ray was in Korea and Vietnam serving 22 years in the military before being honorably discharged for medical reasons in 1972. He attended Riverside Community College where he received his Associates of Arts in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning in 1977.

He then moved his family to Bonners Ferry in 1980. He purchased a farm in the Copeland area where he has resided until the day of his passing.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Yvonne E. Buechner, his twin brothers Edward and Edwin, Claude, Clyde "Boot," Walter "Bowman," one grandson and one great grandson.

He is survived by his brothers Theodore, Robert, Charles, twin brother Raymond Mark, John, Jim; and sisters Katherine "Katie" Goad and Hazel Wheeler. His children, Dorothy Waddell, Nanette and David Bailey, Ray Buechner and Mark, Tammy and Terry Waddell, Ronald Buechner, Katie Buechner, Beck and Robert Waltering, Nancy and Kevin Kemp and 19 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on May 26, 2004 at Bonners Ferry Funeral Home. The burial will follow at Copeland Cemetery.
