Richard G. Breckenridge

Richard G. Breckenridge passed away Sunday, May 23, 2004, of natural causes in Sandpoint. No funeral services are scheduled at this time.

Richard was born Dec. 8, 1930, in Boise, to Winifred and George Breckenridge. He was raised in Boise, Horseshoe Bend, and Weiser. Richard graduated from Weiser High School in 1950 and went on to attend Idaho State College in Pocatello for two years where he majored in printing.

Richard worked at Swifts Beef Packing Plant and the Idaho Statesman in Boise. He also worked at Sears Automotive where he later retired from. He eventually moved to Florence, Ariz., where he resided for eight years before moving to Sandpoint to be closer to his family.

Richard loved spending time outdoors with his family and friends camping, fishing and hunting. He had many wonderful friends in Boise, Florence and Sandpoint.

He is survived by a daughter, Wende (Wade) Ellis of Sandpoint; two sons, Richard L. (Mary) Breckenridge of Boise, and Ken (Debbie) Phippen of Boise; a granddaughter, Amy (Kurt) Borup of Sandpoint; three grandsons, Travis and Josh Breckenridge of Boise and Skeet Phippen of Alaska; a great-grandson; and three great-granddaughters; and a sister, Anamae (Harry) Ledington of Boise; and many special friends and caregivers at Life Care Center in Sandpoint; Bonner General Hospital, Kootenai Medical Center, and St. Luke's Rehab in Spokane.

Thank you for the love and care you gave to Richard and his family during some very difficult times.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Betty; a daughter, Cinde; and a brother, Harry, who was killed in action during World War II.

Memorial donations may be made to any Parkinson's disease or Spinal Cord Injury Research Association.
