Sarah Larsen Mason, 90

Sarah Larsen Mason, 90, passed away on Saturday, May 22, 2004, in Sandpoint.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 29, 2004, in Springville, Utah, at Wheeler Mortuary. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Springville.

Sarah was born on Dec. 31, 1913, in Wellsville, Utah, to Christian and Lydia (Chapman) Larsen. She grew up in Wellsville and graduated from South Cache High School.

Sarah worked at the Morning Milk and Del Monte food packing plants. It was during this period that she met and married Ronald Earl Mason. They married in Preston, Idaho, on Feb. 19, 1942. She and her husband moved to Springville, where they lived for the next 30 years.

She came from hearty Utah pioneer stock and was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints throughout her life.

Sarah worked for many years at Utah Valley Medical Center in Provo, Utah, in the labor and delivery area. She moved to Sandpoint in 1990 to be with her daughter, Marie, and son-in-law, Dan Barney.

She enjoyed doing hand work, crocheting, knitting and quilting and she loved going to lunch with friends and family. She will be remembered as a "spunky lady" in life and in death.

Survivors include her daughters, Marie (Dan) Barney of Sandpoint, Joan (Bill) Johnson of Farmington, Utah, and Beverly (Dick) Sorensen of Springville; five grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ron; her brother, Thirkell; and two grandchildren, Jody Johnson and Terry Sorensen.

Arrangements are under the care of Coffelt Funeral Service of Sandpoint.
