Margery Hunt Hoffmann

| May 26, 2004 9:00 PM

On Friday, May 21, 2004 my beloved wife, our dear mother and grandmother passed away after bravely fighting several illnesses.

At Margery's request no funeral service will be held and the family plans a private gathering.

Margery was born Aug. 28, 1929, in St. Maries. The daughter of Everett and Louise Hunt, she was raised in her beautiful home of Sandpoint, but lived in Spokane since the late 1940s. She graduated from Lewis and Clark High School and attended the University of Idaho pledging as a Kappa Alpha Theta.

For several years Margery enjoyed working as a medical transcriptionist at St. Lukes Hospital. She traveled extensively around the United States and the world, visiting 31 foreign countries including Russia and China, her favorite country being Germany. She enjoyed collecting antiques and reading, but most important to her were her family and friends.

To Margery …

"Two shall be born the whole wide world apart… And speak in different tongues, and have no thought each of the others being, and no heed.

And these o'er unknown seas to unknown lands. Shall cross, escaping wreck, defying death; And, all unconsciously, shape every act and bend each wandering step to this one end:

That one day, out of darkness they shall meet and read life's meaning in each others eyes…"

She leaves behind her husband of 50 years, Karl P.A. Hoffmann, her children Shannon Wark, husband John and granddaughter Jessica Wark of Spokane, Diane Hoffmann of Cibola, Ariz., Marc Hoffmann, wife Tina and grandsons Christopher, Nicholas, Casey, Alex and Brenden of Mead and Gretchen Hoffmann and fiance Ron McElreath of Spokane. She also leaves behind her brother John Hunt of Sandpoint. Her brother James E. Hunt precedes her in death.

In lieu of flowers a donation in Margery Hoffmann's name may be made to the Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery, 1004 E. 8th Ave., Spokane, WA 99202.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Hennessey Smith Funeral Home, 2203 N. Division, Spokane, WA.
