DECATUR, Ill. — Linfield College senior Lindsay Larson, a Sandpoint High School graduate, capped her collegiate career with All-America distinction, finishing sixth in the women's high jump at the NCAA Division III Championships, hosted by Millikin University.

Larson cleared 5 feet, 5 3/4 inches, just shy of her career-best effort of 5-6. Christyn Schuman of Trinity (Texas) won the event with a Division III - best mark of 5-9 1/4.

Larson becomes the 17th women's athlete to earn All-America honors under 15th-year coach Garry Killgore. She was participating in her second consecutive national championship meet, having competed in the heptathlon at the 2003 NCAA meet.

Heading into the Division III championships, Larson was ranked ninth in the nation in the high jump.

Larson, who earned five varsity letters in basketball and track at Sandpoint High School, finishes her career at Linfield College as a three-year letterwinner.

As a Sandpoint Bulldog, Larson was the SHS basketball team captain and most valuable player. She was also named defensive player of the year as junior in 1999.
