Mann leads Sandpoint West Sharks
MOSCOW — Eric Mann led the Sandpoint West Shark swim team to a strong seventh place finish at the recent Trick-or-Treat Invitational.
Mann captured high point honors for 13-14 year old males, in a meet featuring twenty regional teams from Washington, Idaho, and Montana. SWAC sent twenty swimmers.
Mann qualified with zone times in the 50-yard freestyle and 100 butterfly, and dropped significant time in all eleven of his events. Additionally, he took home firsts in the 500 freestyle and 200 butterfly.
SWAC swimmers Paulina Gralow (second, 13-14 female), Garrett Dunn (third, 11-12 male), and Emily Graham (second, 8 and under female) joined Mann on the high point charts. Gralow swam to first place finishes in the 100 IM, 50 breaststroke, and 100 breaststroke. Dunn captured a first in the 100 freestyle, while Graham swam A times and placed first in the 50 freestyle, 50 breaststroke, and 25 breaststroke.
Meranda Carter had an excellent meet in a tough 11-12 female class, placing first in the 500 freestyle and 100 backstroke. Keeley Pearlstein (9-10 female) swam to a first, and an A time, in the 50 freestyle. Erin Stanley (13-14 female), in her first meet as a SWAC Shark, captured first in the 200 breaststroke.
SWAC's 13-14 relay team of Samantha Trulock, Hillari Contor, Paulina Gralow and Erin Stanley rocketed to first place finishes in the 200 medley and the 200 freestyle.
Rachel O'Connor, Julie Porter and Meghan Haley joined the Sharks for their first meet experience, under the guidance of Inland Empire swim coach of the year Mike Brosnahan.
The SWAC Sharks travel to Cheney for the Turkey Trot Invitational this weekend.
