Cooperation needed to preserve resources

Twenty years from now, when our children and grandchildren ask us why the remaining scarce resources such as oil, gas and clean water cost so much, how will we answer?
Ten years from now, when our children and grandchildren ask us where entire species of plants and animals have gone, what will we tell them?
Right now, when our children and grandchildren ask us if we will ever have a world where leaders can try to use their words to solve problems and negotiate solutions (as we ask them to do at school), what can we say? Isn't now the time to address these issues and work to change our lifestyles, our priorities and demand that our leaders work in cooperation with other nations on this planet.
